Deep South by Suroeste: COMPLEXION REFLECTIONS
Gallery Opening & Reception Saturday, May 1, 2021 1:00 to 5:00pm STELLA JONES GALLERY at Place St. Charles 201 St. Charles Avenue, Suite #132, New Orleans, LA 70170 This Deep South by Suroeste group art exhibition explores the changing complexion of Black and Latinx solidarity in Louisiana and beyond. The exhibition highlights the creative work and advocacy of individuals, organizations, and communities that are building Black and Latinx power through common struggle and unity - with the goal of inspiring others to do the same. Featured Artists: Jourdan Barnes, Sean G. Clark, Kara Crowley, Amina Desselle, Natan Diacon-Furtado, Malaika Favorite, Belinda Flores-Shinshillas, Karlinche, Kylen, Mirzam Pérez, Qrcky, Tokie Rome-Taylor, José Torres-Tama, Tshombe Tshanti, and Niarus Walker. Organized by Beryl Johns, dr. fari nzinga and Bottletree. Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm, and Sunday by appointment only.
